Holyhead Waterfront Redevelopment Scheme
In February 2014, Isle of Anglesey County Council granted Conygar Stena Line Ltd outline planning permission for a significant waterfront development in Holyhead.
Since then, many changes have taken place, primary amongst which is a significant reduction in the size of the development. This virtual exhibition is designed to inform and consult the local community on the proposals before a detailed planning application is submitted to Isle of Anglesey Council in 2021. Prior to this, the new applicant, Conygar Holyhead Ltd (Conygar) is looking to obtain your views on the development now being proposed.
Our plans are designed to deliver the complete regeneration of the waterfront area and beyond and aim to:
- Attract more visitors to both Holyhead and Anglesey through enhancement of the area as a leisure and tourism destination
- Regenerate the area through continued investment by the renovation and reuse of the Listed Buildings and Listed Structures along the waterfront and coastline
- Improve public access, extend the Promenade, enhance public open space along Beach Road and create a new beach east of the new breakwater and marina facility
- Work in partnership with established local businesses and other tourist attractions such as the Breakwater Country Park to provide wider benefits
